Today our new Liberal Caucus gathered for its first meeting since election day. It was a great feeling to formally welcome two new additions to the caucus table, Kelly Regan and Andrew Younger. Their energy and enthusiasm will help caucus as it takes on its new role as Official Opposition.
Much of the last week has been spent saying thank you to our candidates, our campaign managers, our workers and of course, our families. The campaign re-energized Liberals across the province. We rebuilt organizations. We pulled together to help each other. We made gains in our popular vote and of course, we made inroads in the Halifax Regional Municipality.
On a personal note, the two years since I have become leader have been action-packed as well as a period of tremendous growth. I am so proud of the men and women who joined with us in presenting Liberal values in this campaign.
A new chapter begins next week, when all of us are sworn in to represent the interests of our constituents and the interests of all Nova Scotians in our new role as the Official Opposition.
Stephen McNeil,
Leader, Nova Scotia Liberal Party
