 Keith and his wife Elizabeth live in Porter’s Lake. He was elected as Eastern Shore MLA in 1993 and 1998. He was elected Preston MLA in 2003 and 2006.
Keith has owned and operated a successful manufacturing company for 19 years. He received the Export Achievement Award from the Province of Nova Scotia in 1988 and was on the Board of Directors and one of the founding members of the Enterprise Forum for Nova Scotia.
He is a Past Member of the Advisory Board for Continuing Education at the Technical University of Nova Scotia as well as a long-term member of the Akerley Community College Machine Shop Course Advisory Board. Keith was also an Executive Director of the Board of Directors with the Technical University of Nova Scotia, CAD/CAM (Plastics Division) as well as a member of many other boards.
He was elected to the Halifax Regional Municipal Council to represent District 3, Preston/Porter’s Lake in 1999 and was re-elected by acclamation in 2000.
He is a past Cabinet Minister for Fisheries and Aquaculture and Consumer Services (now Services Nova Scotia) as well as holding many other cabinet responsibilities.
He has served as host of Community Cable’s “Tales of the Eastern Shore”. Keith has been a volunteer fireman with 13 years’ of service in addition to positions of Auditor, Treasurer and Sick & Visitor Chair.
