Elimination of HST on New Rental Builds

The housing crisis is expected to worsen in Nova Scotia unless immediate action is taken.

 

Last week, the federal government announced it will remove the GST on new rental units - a move that has the potential to increase the supply of rental units and lower rents over time. Other provinces have indicated they want to work with Ottawa to remove the provincial portion of the tax, but the Houston government remains silent.
