Annapolis MLA Carman Kerr is joining a call from Annapolis County Council to waive parking fees at Nova Scotia hospitals.

 

According to data from Annapolis County Council, almost half of the province’s hospitals have free parking, but residents in the Annapolis Valley and Southwestern Nova Scotia are often forced to pay, despite having some of the highest poverty rates. A bill tabled today by MLA Kerr would look to address that.

 

“Parking fees at hospitals should not be a barrier to people accessing healthcare services or visiting loved ones in hospitals,” said Kerr. “Acting on this bill would address a serious concern not just for those in my community, but across the province.”
