The Nova Scotia Liberal Caucus is looking for a Social Media Coordinator to work with its close-knit team to create and maintain a strong online presence for Members of the Nova Scotia Legislature.

 

Salary Range: 

The Nova Scotia Liberal Caucus offers a competitive compensation package, including a comprehensive benefits plan, paid sick time, paid vacation and more. The salary range for this position is $45,000 - $50,000 annually, depending on experience.

 

About this Opportunity: 

As Social Media Coordinator, you will report to the Director of Communications and will be responsible for working alongside the communications team to create content for all platforms and keep up with evolving social media trends. The Social Media Coordinator will also be responsible for the management of social media accounts, ensuring all channels are active and pushing frequent, high-quality, engaging content. 

 

Responsibilities:

  • Work with the communications team to execute communications plans and objectives via social media.

  • Create graphics to be used on social media.

  • Draft copy for social posts and web platforms.

  • Manage all social media channels including content creation, execution and analytics.

  • Execute and analyze digital campaigns on social media and web platforms.

  • Monitor relevant social and digital media channels to observe news and other information.  

  • Research social media trends and developments and advise on social media strategy.

 

Qualifications and Skills: 

The successful candidate will have: 

  • A degree or diploma in a relevant field, such as Communications, Public Relations or Marketing, or at least 5 years of experience in social media management.

  • Strong understanding of social media platforms and social media management tools.

  • Strong writing, editing and proofreading skills.

  • Demonstrated ability to analyze metrics and increase social media reach and engagement.

  • Proven graphic design skills.

  • Understanding of the importance of brand consistency and professionalism.

  • Strong time-management skills and the ability to meet short deadlines.

  • The ability to work evenings and weekends if required.

  • Experience with website management is not required but would be an asset.

  • Interest in, and knowledge of, Nova Scotia political affairs is not required but would be an asset.
